Lykkeberg herring in Curry with apple-thyme is a delicious treat. The herring pieces are packaged in glass in a tasty curry dressing, to which apple and thyme have been added. Lykkeberg is herring made according to old, unique recipes. These are old-fashioned matured herrings, which are stripped of their head and tail when landed, after which they are placed in layers in barrels with salt and spices. The herring are stored in barrels between 6-12 months, where the herring matures in its own enzymes and takes on flavor from salt and spices. This traditional ripening method gives the herring an absolutely fantastic taste. After maturation, the herring is cleaned, filleted and trimmed, after which the herring are hand-packed in glass and the sauce is added.
