Kravlenisser (Crawling pixies) are drawn pixies, equipped with a balance flap, intended to be cut out and used as Christmas decorations. The small flap allows the pixies to "crawl" around on paintings and shelves at Christmas time.
Kravlenisser were invented by the cartoonist Frederik Bramming, who published the first two sheets of crawling pixies in 1947. Right from the start, kravlenisser were a huge hit. It is a nice Christmas tradition to cut out the cute Santas and place them around the house.
