Bagsværd Christmas Licorice is made from Christmas spices and freshly grated orange peel in the well-known Bagsværd Licorice. Licorice has its characteristic taste because it is made from the finest licorice powder and because it is produced by the Maillard reaction, where milk protein and sugar react with each other in the pan. After boiling, the licorice is poured into moulds, where it hardens overnight before being hand cut and packed. The licorice is cut out with a sturdy knife. Ingredients: Sugar, glucose syrup, sweetened condensed milk, fully hardened palm kernel oil, powdered raw licorice, salmiak, grated orange peel, sea salt, vegetable emulsifier: mono- and diglycerides, ground cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, colour: vegetable charcoal, natural orange flavor, surface treated (shellac).
